Merluzzo Siomay

Siomay is dish from West Java. With main ingredients is fish. But now, people can change what they like, such as chicken or shripms. I made siomay with Merluzzo Fish, because for aroma is little bit same like Tenggiri Fish what we use in Indonesia.




Ingredients :
Siomay :
  • 300 grs Merluzzo Fish meat, fillet.
  • 100 grs Tapioca Starch.
  • 3 cloves garlic.
  • 1 tsp salt.
  • 1/2 tsp ground pepper.
  • 1 egg.
  • 12 sheets of Spring Roll.
  • 4 boiled eggs.
  • 4 pcs potatoes, boiled.
  • 1 bitter melon, sliced and boiled.
Peanut Sauce :
  • 150 grs peanuts.
  • 50 grs hazelnuts, roasted.
  • 2 cloves garlic.
  • 1 tbsp vinegar.
  • Salt as needed.
  • 2 tbsp sugar.
  • 300 cc water.
  • 3 lime leaves.
Instruction :
Siomay ingredients :
  1. All of ingredients put into food proccesor and mix until blended.
  2. Take 1 sheet of Spring Roll and put into Muffin pan.
  3. And then put 1 tablespoon of Siomay dough.
  4. Put into steam pan until siomay cooked.
  5. Do it until dough finish.
Peanut Sauce Ingredients :
  1. Put into food proccesor and blend until smooth.
  2. Put into pan and pour water and lime leaves.
  3. Boil until out of the oil.
How to serve :
  • Put on the plate siomay, chunks of potato, boiled egg, boiled bitter melon,
  • Pour peanut sauce.
  • Ready to be served.
