Putri Ayu

Putri Ayu is a traditional snack from Indonesia. To make it, with steam system and base of mould we put grated of coconut. Normally, we made with green color, because we use extract of pandan leaf and suji leaf, they are natural food coloring and have distinctive aroma.



Ingredients :
  • 150 gr all purpose flour.
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder.
  • 100 gr grated coconut.
  • 200 gr sugar.
  • 200 ml fresh milk / coconut milk.
  • 2 eggs.
  • Food coloring (normally we use green color).
  • Salt is required.
Instruction :
  1. Whisk egg and sugar until fluffy and thick.
  2. Add flour and stir until combine evenly.
  3. Pour the fresh milk / coconut milk gradually while stirring until combine evenly.
  4. Add food coloring and stir until blended.
  5. Mix coconut grated with salt.
  6. Preheat steam pan until water boil with medium flame.
  7. Take mould and fill the coconut grated with a little pressed so densed.
  8.  Pour the dough until half full. Steam until mature.
  9. Transfer to serving plate and ready to be served when hot/warm.
